Front Gas Lamp Rebuild

Had an issue where our gas lamps were getting blown out by the wind, even while inside the glass case. We stopped by the Fire Box in Humble and picked up some Hurricane Covers to see if this will solve the problem. (I think we paid too much, but what can you do? this is the only store in town that had them, so $69 dollars later (for 2 glass covers and a 2 pieces of brass) here they are). After I installed them, we discovered another problem – the valves seem to be leaking gas at the handle. Any ideas on this? is this normal?  I don’t think so.

My only question to you is…how much of a carbon footprint are you leaving. Lol!

Don’t call the gas company, they may shut off all you supply lines.
Replace the valves. It’ll give you more psi at the flame thus giving you more wind resistance. Return the glass, you got ripped off. Just kiddin’, they look great.
