Well,

It is time to update this blog with some random post that will both show my wit and pique your curiosity about the genius that is Brett Passmore.

Hard to say what will be the outcome of the Massachusetts senate race. Heck, 5 days ago I would have thought that it was impossible for anyone but a true-blue democrat will ever take back a northeaster senate seat, much less Kennedy’s old one.

Who saw this coming? I didn’t. But then that goes to show you how short sighted we are. Anyone and everyone know that things (thoughts, processes, society) all run in cycles. Up and down, around and around. Nothing will stay the same permanently. Sometimes it takes 47 years (snarky jab at Kennedy’s tenure), but things will roll back around.

You know you are doing something right when you are vilified by the left like Glenn Beck is. Bring it on, right?

Well, Cass Sunstein, Obama’s regulatory czar has suggested that very thing in no uncertain terms. Without Glenn bringing these things to the front, no one else would. The media at large has denied and refused looking into the czars Obama has appointed without oversight. Thank you Glenn for talking about the things no one else thought was necessary. Because of your digging in and exposing Van Jone’s own words, he resigned in disgrace from the Green Jobs czar position.

Cass Sunstein needs to be next. This twit also advocates giving animals a public defender to sue their owners, or hunters. Imagine Cass’s perfect world, a deer you shoot at in the woods has the rights to sue you for attempted murder. Nuts.

Now this, extraction of deceased persons organs with out consent. Nuts.

How to tether your Blackberry to your Windows PC

I have successfully navigated the murky waters of AT&T to identify the process of getting the blackberry tethering to work with my Windows based PC and I wanted to provide a resource for others.

Setting up the Bluetooth Dial up Networking was the easy part, avoiding the PPP 734 Error was the pain. Hint, it had to do with this: AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”wap.cingular”. I know, it looks Greek, but it is really Aramaic. No, seriously, it is an “Extra Initialization String” that is needed for the “Standard Modem over Bluetooth link” Advanced settings. (See Screen shot). I have the BES Unlimited plan, and these setting worked for me. Apparently if you run the BIS Plan, you must use AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”isp.cingular” instead.

Do the Mullahs have the power or not?

The mullahs have basically total control of the infrastructure in Iran, from power, to communications, to water, to public services. The rest of the public and privately held resources are also subject to the current government’s whims.

That being said, it does not seem absurd that the mullahs and their proxy government should have the ability to really block most ISPs/ Cellular networks pretty darn quickly. Now that this uprising has been going on for a few days, for sure they should have shut down the pipes that are airing the “dirty laundry”.

This seems like a pretty basic and easy way to kill the communications from the common man.

So, why haven’t they done this? Do they want this aired in this fashion while feigning righteous indignation for some other cause/ propaganda? what is the up side? Do they NOT have this type of control (over the ISPs and Cellular networks?) Am I totally off my rocker here?

I have been watching Fox News today and they sure are using this event for an advertising bonanza. Most programming has been cancelled and Shepard Smith is getting real annoying at this time.

Had an issue where our gas lamps were getting blown out by the wind, even while inside the glass case. We stopped by the Fire Box in Humble and picked up some Hurricane Covers to see if this will solve the problem. (I think we paid too much, but what can you do? this is the only store in town that had them, so $69 dollars later (for 2 glass covers and a 2 pieces of brass) here they are). After I installed them, we discovered another problem – the valves seem to be leaking gas at the handle. Any ideas on this? is this normal? I don’t think so.
